Frequently Asked Questions

Are Youngly Tech products safe for methane environments (Group I)?

Our standard ATEX/IECEx Group II equipment (IIA, IIB, IIC) is suitable for surface mining and most mineral processing facilities. For underground coal mines with methane (Group I / M1 / M2), we offer specialized Group I certified variants. We also have products certified to GB 3836 (China MA) for the Chinese market if needed. Please specify your mining environment (coal, metal, open-pit, underground) and we will recommend the correct certification.

What IP rating do I need for a dusty mine environment?

For mining applications, we recommend a minimum of IP66 (dust-tight + powerful water jets). For wash-down areas, IP67 or IP68 may be appropriate. Our explosion-proof enclosures default to IP66 and can be upgraded to IP67 on request. We also offer dust-tested variants per IEC 60079-31 (Ex t — protection by enclosure) for combustible dust environments (Zone 21, Zone 22).

How do your products handle the vibration and mechanical impact in mining?

Our explosion-proof enclosures are designed to withstand the mechanical impacts defined in IEC 60079-0: 7J impact test for Group II enclosures. For higher-impact areas (e.g., near drilling or blasting), we offer reinforced enclosures and can supply impact test reports on request. Vibration testing per IEC 60068-2-6 is available for OEM projects.

Can you supply equipment for both underground and open-pit mines?

Yes. We have supplied equipment for both environments. Underground mining requires Group I (methane) certification for coal, while open-pit operations typically use Group II equipment with higher IP ratings and UV-resistant finishes. We also supply portable explosion-proof lighting for inspection crews and emergency lighting for refuge chambers.

What is the lead time for mining project orders?

Standard products ship in 7-15 days. Custom configurations for mining (e.g., specific thread types, gland materials, pre-terminated cables) typically ship in 15-30 days. For large mining projects, we recommend placing frame orders 60-90 days before the installation phase. We can hold inventory in our Xiamen warehouse for staged release.
